    TLDR:

    • Bitcoin price climbed above $77,000 on August 21 while Bhutan moved 490.87 BTC, worth $32.74 million when the transfer occurred.
    • Onchain Lens identified a 485 BTC transaction as the largest movement, but the fresh-wallet destination does not confirm an exchange sale.
    • U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $517.19 million on August 19, while Treasury’s larger long-end buybacks supported broader liquidity expectations.
    • Ali Martinez sees the next major supply cluster between $83,307 and $84,569, where roughly one million BTC previously changed hands.

Bitcoin price climbed above $77,000 on August 21, reaching a three-month high after a sharp five-day advance. The rally coincided with another large transfer from wallets linked to Bhutan’s government. Onchain Lens tracked 490.87 BTC moving into fresh addresses during the previous day. The coins carried a value of $32.74 million when transferred.

The timing attracted attention because Bhutan has reduced its identified holdings throughout 2026. Yet movement into a new wallet does not confirm an exchange deposit or sale. Meanwhile, spot ETF demand, short liquidations, and improving on-chain signals kept buyers focused on higher resistance levels across the market.

Bhutan Bitcoin Transfer Revives Market Sale Concerns

Onchain Lens reported the latest Bhutan Bitcoin transfer. The largest transfer carried 485 BTC worth about $32.31 million. Earlier, the tracker identified a 300 BTC transfer worth $19.28 million. Both reportedly reached the same destination, lifting its balance above 2,018 BTC.

The destination shapes selling risk. Transfers into exchange deposit addresses often precede trading, custody changes, or treasury management. This batch went to a fresh wallet instead of an identified exchange address. Therefore, the blockchain records movement, but it cannot establish Bhutan’s purpose or prove an impending sale.

Arkham’s government rankings currently attribute roughly 1,450 BTC to Bhutan’s verified entity. The platform identified more than 13,000 BTC under the government in September 2024. Arkham’s tracker records a large 2026 decline in identified holdings. Changes in address labeling may create differences between entity totals and individual wallet balances.

Bhutan built its position differently from governments holding seized assets. Its sovereign investment arm, Druk Holding and Investments, funded mining operations using domestic hydropower. Arkham reported that mining began in 2019 and included at least four sites. At the latest Bitcoin price, the transferred 490.87 BTC carries a market value near $38 million.

Bitcoin Price Targets $83K as ETF Demand Strengthens

Bitcoin is trading near $77,440, up 8.5% over 24 hours. The Bitcoin price range stretched from roughly $71,157 to $77,299 before another move higher. That advance extended the BTC rally to about 22% across five days. Trading volume exceeded $61 billion, confirming broader participation behind the breakout.

    Bitcoin (BTC) Price

Macro conditions supplied an early catalyst. The U.S. Treasury doubled planned long-end bond buybacks to at least $4 billion per operation. The larger operations start September 9 and cover ten-year through thirty-year securities. Lower yields and a softer dollar followed the announcement, supporting demand for Bitcoin and other scarce assets.

Institutional flows reinforced the move. Farside Investors recorded $517.2 million of inflows on August 19, then $606.3 million on August 20. BlackRock’s IBIT led both sessions, drawing $284.7 million and $503 million, respectively. The two-day total exceeded $1.12 billion, showing regulated buyers participated during the rebound. Short liquidations added forced purchases when bearish positions closed.

On-chain signals also strengthened. Glassnode found high-conviction buyers accumulating since January, similar to activity seen during 2022. This cohort acquired a larger supply share than in that earlier period.

Ali Martinez identified $75,733 as the breakout threshold for the Bitcoin price. His supply-distribution analysis shows limited overhead ownership until $83,307 to $84,569. Roughly one million BTC previously changed hands within that higher cluster. Consequently, the $83,000 area may test whether spot demand can absorb holders returning toward their cost basis.

    BITCOIN: NO RESISTANCE

Bitcoin has built a strong support zone between $61,849 and $63,111, where more than 2 million BTC were previously transacted.

More importantly, the URPD shows very little resistance ahead.

If Bitcoin breaks above $75,733, the next major supply cluster… https://t.co/2r05AAsTj9 pic.twitter.com/4Ev8pScjsy

Derivatives could accelerate either direction. Total Bitcoin open interest climbed above $56.9 billion, while CME and Binance positions increased. Rising leverage can extend the BTC rally when buyers control momentum. It can also deepen liquidations if the Bitcoin price loses $75,733 and traders unwind crowded long positions.
